It’s not just dog owners who feel pride when their dog goes through a transformation. The dogs themselves can feel a sense of pride too. Henry, the golden retriever, is a good example of this.
Henry always finds time to look at himself in the mirror. In fact, if there is any reflective surface in his home, he’ll be there admiring himself. This might look weird at first, but it’s totally reasonable for him to do this, given his background.
Henry was found in the streets of China. He was chained up, emaciated, and had a horrible skin condition. Fortunately, he got rescued, but he had to endure a lot to recover.
After a year in a shelter, Henry found a family. He was adopted by Lindsay and Brandon, who introduced him to their other dogs. He didn’t have trouble getting along with any of them because he fit right in.
Henry became such a goofy character that it’s impossible to tell what he has been through. He enjoys jumping in the pool and swimming. He also loves receiving physical affection alongside lots of treats.
Henry is always ready for an adventure. Whenever his owner brings out a leash, he will dance around excitingly.
His owners say that Henry is more excited to see a leash than treats.
Lindsay and Brandon felt lucky because they saw Henry’s transformation firsthand. That’s why whenever he’s in front of a mirror admiring his new self, they don’t interfere. Henry is allowed to relish and enjoy as much as possible. Any dog who has been through the same ordeal should be allowed to do the same.
