Once in a while, we encounter dogs that stand out from the rest. Sometimes it’s because of a unique and impressive ability. Other times, it’s because they have a unique physical attribute that effortlessly captures the attention of many. And the best way to discover these kinds of dogs is through social media.
Goma, a dog from the city of Tokyo, Japan, is one of those dogs that will make you give her a second glance. Her enormous, round ears are reminiscent of the most famous Disney character, Mickey Mouse.
To humans, having huge ears may seem peculiarly unappealing. However, for the four-year-old Maltese – Papillon mix, her unique ears look adorable cute on her.
Interestingly, what makes these pair of ears stand out is their color. Goma’s real fur is white, except for her gray-colored ears.
Here is a likely explanation: Maltese breeds usually have all-white fur, and Goma appeared to have most Maltese genes.
The Papillon, on the other hand, is known for its large ears. Its name means ‘butterfly’ in French because its ears look like the aforementioned winged insect.
You’ll automatically think that it’s one of those ear headband costumes that you usually see on Disneyland, except that hers is all-natural!
Her rise to fame began on the social media platform Instagram. With over 109,000 followers, Goma indeed has a huge fan base looking forward to her every post.
If you look at her aesthetically pleasing profile, Goma indeed spends a lot of time posing for the camera with her owner. Her cool, calm, and relaxed poses are proof that her owner knows her best angles.
But as with any other pup that effortlessly rose to fame, Goma is utterly oblivious to the attention he’s getting. He behaves like any other dog.
Goma gets to play, eat and feel the love of the people that matter to her. As long as she has those in her life, nothing else matters.
