Dogs are known as social animals. They are considered man’s best friend. But oftentimes, they are not just our friends, but they also act as older siblings to young children. They do things to try to help the youngsters get a sense of the world.
Science says that babies appear to be happier when living with a dog. Alexis and her family’s dog, named Day, proved that science was, in fact, on point.
A few years ago, a video of Day teaching Alexis the science behind jumping was uploaded on YouTube. The culprit behind this adorable video was no other than their mom, Sabrina.
Their mother explained that Alexis was only learning to jump. It was a mere coincidence that Day was also around the baby, as he keeps chasing her shadow.
Day loves shadows. He would exclaim in excitement upon seeing a moving shadow. On the other hand, Alexis is a very energetic baby. She gets very excited when her mom puts her on the jolly jumper.
When the dog saw the moving shadow of Alexis, Day’s initial reaction was to jump in excitement hilariously. Alexis saw what the dog was doing and got even more excited. And then she started to copy the dog’s movements.
As Day continued to react to the baby’s shadow, Alexis unknowingly learned how to jump up and down. This only proves that animals and humans can learn from one another.
Six happy years had passed since Sabrina uploaded the video. Surely, Alexis learned a lot of things from Day over the years.
Alexis may find new friends and learn new things, but she most definitely will never forget the first dog who taught her the mechanics of jumping. Day will always be Alexis’ best friend.
Many situations like this happened before. Dogs somehow decide on their own that they needed to help toddlers with many things. There were instances where dogs teach the young ones how a toy works, how to crawl, and even how to talk.
Babies and dogs are the perfect ingredients for an adorable video.
