After spending most of her life on the race track, Salty the Greyhound finally got rescued. Lucy Percival, Salty’s new mom, made sure that the dog gets the extra love she deserved.
Salty’s story
Greyhound racing was all about placing bets on dogs and using them for entertainment. Salty was overworked and prohibited from socializing from anyone for a few years.
After her racing career, Salty was used for breeding for an entire year. She hadn’t gotten a lot of attention from past owners.
Luckily, a team of rescuers was able to get the dog adopted by Lucy. It was hard to communicate with Salty at first, but once she got comfortable, her sweet and cuddly personality came out.
The dog was named after Lucy’s experience with distance running and her consumption of large amounts of salt. Salt turned it Salty and suited the dog quite well.
Big diva
Salty refused to sleep in her dog bed unless Lucy fixed it a certain way. The pillows had to be fluffed, and the sheets had to be clean.
Every night, the dog stood at Lucy’s bedroom door and just stared at her until she got up. Salty was very fussy and liked things to be in one specific order.
Salty’s personality was very diva. She was nowhere near an average dog. Lucy believes that the dog was very human-like. If they didn’t catch the train least once a week, Salty would get upset at Lucy.
The dog didn’t interact well with other dogs since she hated going outdoors to parks and wasn’t very active. Salty preferred grabbing her usual puppaccino while chilling on her favorite spot on the couch.
Salty had a lot of unique traits and her adorable overbite. She loved showing her excitement through chattering. The adorable sound she makes showed how happy she was with her new life.
