Volunteer workers of Love Furry Friends, a nonprofit animal rescue organization, went to the city of Gostomel in Ukraine to deliver food to dogs that lost their homes in the war. They expected to see the worst but they still felt devastated when they saw the condition of the poor animals.
Many families managed to vacate their homes before the situation got worse. Sadly, most of them had to leave their dogs behind. Surely, they wanted to bring their beloved pets but they simply didn’t have the means to take them.
With three tons of dog food to distribute, the rescuers had more than enough to feed a dozen packs of dogs. Simultaneously, they had so much work to do so they went to action right away. They combed every alley and placed food in spots where the dogs could easily find it.
Not a single thing was out of the ordinary when unexpectedly, the rescuers heard some noise that came from somewhere. They listened carefully and figured out that what they heard were cries for help. They searched until they located where it originated.
In a completely ruined and abandoned house, a little dog looked out the broken window and barked as loud as he could. He was so scared to be on his own in the darkroom, where was trapped, but he felt even more petrified when he realized someone was around. He wanted to escape and even tried to bite his rescuer just to try and set himself free.
It took a little while before the dog, now named Lucky, calmed down. He was pretty shaken up by everything that happened, hence, he reacted violently. But the moment he figured out he was safe, he transformed into the most loving and gentle dog he has always been.
Lucky was all alone in the house. He had no food or water and yet, he managed to pull through. Despite all the unfortunate events that occurred in his life, he was fortunate he stayed alive.
Soon, Lucky was ready to meet his new mom. He thanked his rescuers and then bid his goodbyes as he started fresh in his new home.
