Ever since Pablo was a puppy, he had never found a family that would keep him forever. He bounced around from one house to another and even spent time in various shelters. He was deemed to be an overly aggressive dog, and everyone was scared to keep him around. What they didn’t know is that the dog was frightened of them too.
An experienced shelter staff member said that it was likely that the pit bull was abused when he was just a pup. He never forgot about the pain and that shaped his views on humans, especially men. Thankfully, a patient and loving man found him. And he was determined to win the dog over.
All it takes is love and patience
Manny is a New York resident that learned about Pablo’s plight. The dog needed a home, or he might be put on a kill list. And despite knowing the dog’s aggressive character, he took a chance and adopted him.
Pablo was given his own space inside the house. Manny and his wife, Ina, knew that the dog needed to feel comfortable and safe. That meant letting him get familiarized with his new surroundings. As expected, the dog would growl every time someone came too close.
Manny showered the dog with love and attention. He would patiently sit near him, talking and giving him food. He would also frequently play with Pable and give him exercise. Every time he took the dog for a walk, he would put a muzzle on him.
All worth it
For six months, Manny tried everything that he could to win the dog over. And it worked. Pablo loves to be near his dad all the time and would often snuggle with him. The transformed pit bull would eagerly await by the door every day when it was time for Manny to arrive.
The loving owner and his pet spend a lot of time on the couch with the dog placing his head on Manny’s lap. They are inseparable now. And according to the proud dog owner, all of the hard work was worth it.
