Eddie, a rescue dog, had been walking the streets of Washington alone for at least a month after being abandoned. So when Carin Brown of Benton County Animal Control found the dog, she could tell he was in horrible shape.
She initially assumed he had been hurt as a stray, but she quickly discovered it was much more severe. Eddie’s tumor was incurable, and he only had 6 to 12 months to live.
Despite everything, Eddie is always the sweetest, happiest dog. Brown realized she needed to help him in any way she could. As a result, animal control called Mikey’s Chance Canine Rescue for assistance.
Kristi Kesler, Brown’s neighbor, agreed to be Eddie’s foster mother for the rest of his life. He was also given the charming alias “Eddie Spaghetti” by Kesler.
Since Eddie didn’t have much time left, Kesler understood that she ought to make the most of it. As a result, she created a wish list for him. She was determined to make the rest of his life wonderful for him, but it turned to be far more impressive than she had imagined.
Eddie’s wish was granted thanks to the efforts of Kesler, Mikey’s Chance, and the Pasco Police Department. Things like capturing selfies with Santa, riding in a sidecar, and operating a kissing booth were on his bucket list. He’s been crossing them off his list one by one.
One of the necessary tasks on Eddie’s bucket list was to be an honorary police K9. As a result, Pasco Police Department allowed him to work as a K9 officer for the day. Eddie vowed to “apprehend bad guys, hunt for drugs, and imprison people.” He also received a custom-made police uniform, complete with actual police patches.
Eddie then had the opportunity to spend the day as a police K9, which was a lot of fun. He went to a 9-1-1 center, as well as a donut store, among other places. He even got to swim in a pool filled with stuffed animals after his workday was done.
Eddie had a terrific time with the cops and getting the attention he deserved. His bucket list, on the other hand, does not stop there. Many members of the organization have volunteered to help him check more items off his to-do list.
Eddie’s story has inspired many individuals. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have much time left, but his loved ones have helped him make the most of it. Eddie’s story, if fortunate, will perhaps inspire more people to be kind and support dogs like him in the future. Regardless of the circumstances, every dog is worth it.
