Trying to rescue a stray dog can be quite challenging. Most of these dogs have lived most of their lives as strays and are likely afraid of humans. Many would try their hardest to avoid human contact and would even act aggressively when someone tries to capture them.
However, some people would do anything to catch these dogs and find loving forever homes for them. It only takes dedication and also a lot of patience and kindness. It’s not easy to catch a stray dog who doesn’t trust humans.
A huge Great Pyrenees named Miles has lived as a stray for about a year when a woman named Megan heard about Miles through social media. As soon as Megan learned about Miles’s story, she jumped in her car and drove to where Miles was last seen to try and catch him and find a loving forever home for him.
No one knows exactly who owned Miles before but he was really scared of people and he refused to get caught by anyone. Miles is an escape artist and would evade all attempts to catch him. Megan knew this but she refused to give up and attempted to catch Miles.
Eventually, Megan soon learned that Miles is a really smart dog and no matter how many treats she gives him, Miles would run away as soon as she tries to put a leash on him. For the next six or seven hours, Miles would drive around trying to find Miles and catch him.
Megan realized that she needed help. Megan came into contact with an animal rescuer and a trapper named Danny Spanks. The next day, Danny drove to the area where Miles was last seen and he was able to lure Miles into a fenced area, which was actually a small dog park.
Miles also contacted another rescuer named Courtney who was finally able to put a leash around Miles. Everyone, Megan included, breathed a sigh of relief when Miles was finally caught. Miles went to doggy daycare after he was caught and that’s when Miles realized that he can trust humans.
Miles was so scared before but when he felt loved for the first time in a very long time, he decompressed and he’s become a dog especially when he went to his foster home. Miles learned to become a dog again and it’s all thanks to his rescuers and his foster family. Here’s a heartwarming video showing people never giving up on giving a stray dog a new life.
